Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra, a cultural mainstay of the Florida Gulf Coast, is a unique and accomplished Chorus and Orchestra, which year after year thrills and amazes audiences. Made up of professional and volunteer musicians AMICCO’s repertoire is chosen from the beloved Classics, Opera and signature American music. Performing four concerts from December through March, as well as Symphony on the Sand each November, it attracts audiences from Anna Maria Island, Bradenton, Sarasota, Manatee County and the larger Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area.

AMICCO also sponsors an annual Young Artist Competition for high school age musicians, including those who are home schooled, earning the winner not only monetary compensation and publicity but the opportunity for mentoring and a featured performance at one of AMICCO’s concerts.

In addition AMICCO presents myriad outreach programs for civic, cultural and educational organizations, including public talks at libraries and service clubs.

Strong community support and excellent reputation are the results.

There is another important group in AMICCO that must be recognized. These are the volunteers without whom the organization could not exist. Yes, some Chorus and Orchestra members are volunteer performers. But most of the administrative and business functions of AMICCO are performed by volunteers who are not musicians.

They are members of the Board of Directors. They are the workers behind the scenes who manage AMICCO’s financial affairs, raise funds, sell program ads, work on the committees, sell tickets to concerts, usher and serve as hosts at receptions and other AMICCO events.

They do all this because they absolutely love good music and because they strongly support what AMICCO contributes to the cultural life of the greater Tampa Bay area. We invite you to join us.
