AMI Sun Article – Deborah Polkinghorn Šuta, Chorus Master and Soprano, has graduated with multiple bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education, Conducting and Education. She completed an advanced post-graduate program in Opera Performance at the New England Conservatory of Boston. Ms. Polkinghorn Šuta is completing her Ph.D. dissertation in Music Education and Research. She teaches at the University of South Florida and is frequently invited as a guest vocalist, lecturer, conductor, adjudicator and clinician for numerous universities and musical organizations. Deborah serves as the Cantorial Soloist for Temple Beth El Synagogue and as a Cantor and Soprano for St. Wilfred Episcopal Church. She is often seen as the Soprano soloist on the Opera, Oratorio, Pops, Liturgical, Recital and World Music stage. Her international performances and recordings include; Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Lichtenstein, France, Germany, Austria, throughout the United States of America, and most recently England, Wales and Scotland. Deborah has had the honor of conducting with the late, Dr. Daniel Moe, the late, Janita Hauk, Dr. Richard Zielinski, Dr. Ann Stephenson-Moe, Dr. Alan Gumm, several conductors, ensembles, symphonic orchestras, and multi-generational choirs.
